MMMMMMmmmmmm somebody's gonna be eatin' good for christmas!!!!!
In case you guys don't know, you can use your goose calls and make a BRRRRRRRRR sound in them by chattering the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth and make a PERFECT brant sound. the stupid bastards almost always hook and come in. i just use canada floaters and they finish well, too well.
Awful table fare though! :tu:

You're right about the brant I shot up in Virginia - they had a foul odor to them and tasted terrible. The brant from North Carolina are good though - actually most of the locals consider them a delicacy. If think it has something to do with what they are feeding on - in Virginia they are eating mostly sea lettuce (cabbage) and in North Carolina they eat eelgrass. I do know there was a big difference in the birds - my dog wouldn't even eat the brant from Chincoteague.

Maybe the guys in north carolina were drinking ripple!!!!!!!!
no offense to anybody (but i joke on anyone who tells me they eat brant!!!!!):rof: :rf:
here's the deal....
first chew - ah the salt....
second chew - ahhhhh the teriyaki
third chew - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! the brant!:tu:

Hello GW- Smith, what happened to you. waited for you to go kill some birds, give me a call if you still want to go. I have plenty of land to hunt on, so much I cant hunt it all in one season.

I'm heading out to Mexico to hunt for awhile. Will try to call you when I get back Rick. I'm on call at the hospital over X-mas and can't get out but should have time in January to hunt.

I know of a guy who shot one when out with a friend of mine a few weeks ago around CT that actually had a radio transmitter attached to its foot along with an ankle bracelet. The radio transmitter evidently was dead but the bird was tracked with it for quite a long time. pretty cool i thought.
