View Full Version : Paint for foam decoy touchup

I just "inherited" some old Herter's foam decoys. I say inherited, but no one died, just their diver hunting died. They are in dire need of a paint job, and wanted to post a question here before I started the job. I use latex on my cork dekes I carve, but will these paints work on the foam decoys, or should I try something else?

you should have no problem with latex on those foamed burlaped decoys. I do it all the time.

sorry. ignore burlapped. it will work fine on the foam bodies. scuff the heads pretty good for proper ahesion of paint.

The best paint I have used is sold by Lock Stock and Barrell. It is sold for the urethane foam decoys they carry but I've also used it on cork. The paint is thick but can be thinned down.
