View Full Version : Gang rigs
What do you guys use for main line on your gang rigs? I'm using twisted/tarred with 5" clips for my drops but want to make sure I get something strong enough for the main line. Any suggestions??? Thanks - Dale

I use parachute cord. It holds up well and I find it doesn't get tangled.

I use 5/16" diamond-braid rope for my main lines. It doesn't get tangled up. You may also try Decoy Rigs for a gang-line rig kit or a ready-to-go gang line. I have 4 gang-lines that I bought from them and they are great!!!

wtrfowl - I got the para cord and think it will work great.
River Rat - Where could I find more info on Decoy Rigs. Do they have a web site?
Thanks for the help.
One more question - "prob more to come" How do you store your main lines for ease of use? Dale

5/16" diamond braid Dacron hands down works the best. Been running it for 10 years. The thinner stuff gets all twisted up and is a pain in the arse to deal with.

I store my gang rigs on empty wire spools that I get from a local electrician.

I keep mine wrapped up on a spool that electrical wire comes on, also, the kind that you keep an extension cord on will work.
