Just returned from Saskatchewan this past Sunday. Central and West Central Saskatchewan are loaded with specks and snows. The area we hunted in received significant hail damage and the fields are loaded with food.We hunted our way south out of Saskatchewan and further south the fewer geese we encountered. Good news is the amount of Juvie snow geese we saw, they had a bumper crop of young this year. We saw fewer juvie specks than in years past. Most of the birds are roosting on water less than 2ft deep, so all it will take will be some cold weather then you will start seeing some.

Hey Jed, I had the Bee out a few minutes a go and saw the first flight of lost snows over the city. They were low and looking for a place to land.:ST:

Thanks for the report Rich. I am getting reports that the specks and ducks are getting really thick in the Thornwell/ Gueydan areas. Farmers and guides said have not seen this many ducks or specks down this early in 10 years!!! Good numbers of snows showing up daily too, more than normal. All signs of a good season for us all I hope!
