Birds on the move

Get ready upper NY state, Atlantic flyway guys. We broke ice again today and alot of the smaller water is frozen over and the birds are rafting up on the bigger water bodies getting ready for the big push. Lots of new mallards arrived over the weekend and the BIG mergs (Magnum Lawn Darts) and Golden Eyes are showing up in good numbers too. Probably be frozen out by the end of the month at this rate. Three shooters this morning resulted in 15 mallards (3 shy of the count) by 0810. We'll save a few for you - STUB

thanks for the update, Stubbs - we had our first good shoot of the season Saturday: 8 mallards, 1 gaddy, 2 blacks, and a teal for 3 of us. Looking forward to it getting better

i was breaking ice in Rondeu park yesterday as well, and the swans are all over the lake right now
