I am in Central WI and we have just a ton of geese everywhere there is any open water. Tonight and tomorrow there is a WInter Storm predicted to drop 6 or more inches of snow, followed by a deep freeze Thursday and Friday. If I was down there, I would make plans to hunt.....:uh:

We are already getting sleet around the Wausau area, just drizzle here in Mosinee, I think you are right, the birds will more then likely be moving!:in:

Take minute read this - Just don't talk it - U got get out & do it!

Gotta Go to where Ducks & Geese are! (http://www.flocknockers.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29293)

POSTING Weather in Wi. - N. IL. and movement of ducks & geese
is GREAT - Very important for Mississippi Flyway.
Could become best Migration watch (update) know to man if enough people here on FlockNockers would get involved!
Of course this would be true for all Flyways!

I am going try go where the Geese are and also go to where hopefully Geese will be going to!

Starting in morning - Tuesday - Next 3 days I will Goose hunting
in N. IL almost to Wi. line. Lots Geese there now and probably will be getting several more next couple days.

I will Goose hunt there Friday till 11am then I will drive from one end of state to the other - to Southern IL. Union County
Hopefully Cold Weather and little snow will move some Geese to this area Thursday & Friday Clear with North wind = good chance!
This colld front should move most of Ducks out of Wi. & N. IL.

I will be in Union County area till 21st coming home 7-9 days for XMAS then I will be in So. IL. most time till end of season Jan 31st.

I will try post next couple days the Weather in N. IL. and amount Geese there. I will post when/if Geese start arriving Southern IL.

It's that time year again for A Goose Hunter.
The GOOD TIMES - get out there and Get U Some!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

I am not holding my breath. Why is it we get 6 inches south west of here, but hardly any North East; unless it is way over in the other flyway?

It is still raining here. They downgraded the forecast to 2-4 inches.

The good news is every single cut cornfield I saw this morning (probably 50 in a ten mile stretch) had at least a hundred geese feeding in it. The was one 40 that was completely full of birds with more circling to come in....Haven't seen anything like that except in ND....

Sounds alittle crowded for them. Send some down about 60 miles.:Rich: :Rich:

I went home for lunch and that 40 still has 30-400 geese in it. I feel a cough coming on.....:nn:

Hunted this morning in the rain and only shot 1 Canada (the big S.O.B. weighed 13 1/2 lbs!). Missed one other, but did not see new birds moving through yet. All the water in N IL will be freezing in the next couple days with lows in the teens and highs in the upper 20's and not much wind forecasted. Our snow never developed in N IL so when the geese get pushed from north of the border, hopefully they will hang here for a few days, we got plenty of feed for em. Time to hit the cooling lakes!:st:

GRN HEAD telling it like it was today

Took a beating in the rain today! Rain, mud, rain, mud, rain, and more mud.

LOTS Geese here in N. IL. And will probably be getting lot new geese in next couple days.
Weather man did his thing again - MISSED BIG time - 45 degree this morning but start getting N. wind & colder late this afternoon. Not enough to move any ducks or geese south.

BUT again calling for 20 degree tonight and only upper 20s tomorrow. SO IL hunters > Cross you Fingers!

Today 5 of us got 10 Geese - 6 of them REAL BIG BOYS
I guess 10 to 12 pounds and we also got bonus - 9 mallards.

Today catch!

Just a heads up for you Illinois boys... Received word that new birds were arriving in my area mid to late morning today. We had to quit hunting at 9 to get to work so we didn't see any of these birds. Went back out this afternoon to pull decoys on the river as all the rain from yesterday has caused the river to jump a foot and a half to two feet. Saw birds going to and from the fields all afternoon while we were out there. Hopefully something will break loose with the cold temps forcasted. We got about 3-4 inches of snow here in west central illinois, but the wind is blowin and goin out of the northwest so the fields are still open. Good luck to everyone as the season winds down, and be careful if you hunt the river. The current is rockin and rollin right now and there's no room for error out there.

Whack 'em and stack 'em!

Only got a little snow on the ground after all the rain quit here in eastern Ia. Don't matter anyway our seasons closed here north of I-80. Time to pack up and start hunting in Central Ill. zone anyway. Maybe a change of scenery would be good. Best of luck to everyone.

Well boy's all of the big hipe about the snow did not turn out to be anything. only ended up with about a 1/2 of inch. Plenty of geese still around the area, and alot of uncut corn still standing. Unless Lake Michigan Freezes over i dont think the geese are going any where.:wak: :wak:
