Anyone of the Pac Fly hunt Twitchell Island via the DFG drawing?

Curious what your thoughts are. Checked it out today, area is holding alot of geese.

We always put it, just have yet to be drawn. Yup, lots of birds in that area. It would be nice to shoot that area on a nice stormy day ;) BP, were you drawn?

This is the first year I put in, got drawn for Jan 7th. Talked to the Biologist today, he said they have about 25K geese using the island....Saw alot specks, cacklers and aelutians (sp) today with a few snowies cruising around....guys had some good chances today with no weather....we'll see.

That is awesome you were drawn. I have applied for years and have yet to be drawn. I saw a statistic the other day, that showed this area has the highest success factor for geese of all public areas, Klammath was 2nd. That is a big statement, better hunter success on geese in our backyard, than in the basin. Who would of thunk it!!

I was starting to think it was all a big ruse, I am glad to finally hear of someone actually being drawn. Drove to Stockton last weekend, and saw lots and lots of ducks in flooded corn along Hwy 12 on Bouldin Isl. Also heard a report of lots of shooting on Lower Sherman last weekend. You may get into the ducks if weather is right on the 7th. I assume you are shooting the dry field??

Post some pix's, no matter how you do, we all would like to see some.

This year has been pretty crazy as far as getting drawn goes....I put in for the pheasant draw on Sherman Is. as well and ended up getting drawn twice, drawn for Twitchell once, Delevan 3x, Sacto 2x, Colusa 1x, Howard Slough 2x...I probably will not get drawn now for the next three years............

Kirk, the only thing that will keep me from going on the 7th is my wife delivering my child, she's due any day..........so if we go I put up some pics, three of us are going to put out the yard sale spread--snows, specks and honks...hoping to shoot my first aelutian...
