i have been hunting the fields around carlyle and am seeing a lot of birds, but i just depends on the weather, as far as what the ducks and geese are going to do. die or fly!lot of snows flying looking for fields in the morning. alot of them are feeding at night. all the ponds and subs look frozen. i will have to stick with the fields. i did see alot of ducks on the main lake last week. not any luck in the parking lots. i wish they would move are goose season to feb. it makes me mad when i am hunting snows, and i have groups of canadian's and specklbellys all over but i can't hunt them.

rough estimate of 5000+ geese, both light and dark, fed within 1/2 of beautiful downtown new baden yesterday. and sad to think no one is smacking them. been doing those same fields last 3 years.. ducks are in the flooded fields belw carlyle lake, all the way to new athens. course the bastages at work schedule me for 58 hours this week. 5-10's and 8 saturday. bah humbug
