Hey guys, just got an older browning gold 10, not the light, does any body know the difference between the two other than steel receiver versus alloy? Its a heavy s.o.b. but I love the way it fits and feels, doesn't seem to be any heavier than my sp-10. Just curious if there is any diff between the light and the older steel model other than weight. Thanks, Mike

Congratulations on your new toy!!

As far as the differences go ......you mention the only one that I am aware of, steel vs. aluminum receiver. Great guns regardless. I own an old SP10 with 30" barrel and PM choke...wouldn't trade it for the world but man I REALLY like that GOLD LITE 10. Maybe Santa will remember?

Oh by the way..there is NO CURE for the shotgun disease...only treatment....that is occasionally (at least 3Xs a year) buy yourself a new scattergun. Hell, it helps me cope ! LOL:rof:

I own the Light Gold 10 ga. 2003 version and it weights in at 9 lb. 7oz. for the 26" barrel.........the 28" version weights in at 9 lb. 10 oz...Both these have the Alum. reciever....The older Gold reciever is steel, so ???? on Weight.... It Probably shoots like a dream..Hardley any recoil I'd bet!!!...Got to love the mighty 10ga...AL-IA

Hey bgold35, you ought to hunt with him sometimes, its LMFAO all the time. Usually we're LMFAO at his shooting and calling skills,he's just trying to emulate his older, wiser , better looking brother. I give him extra credit for trying. Seriously, He's the one who wheeled and dealed the browning ten for me, can't thank him enough. He takes way to good of care of his older brother. Best hunting partner anyone could ever ask for. Although I really am older, wiser, and much better looking!:Rich: :Rich: :Rich: Hey Rich-:KH:
