Well I tagged my second bird this morning so my turkey "shooting" season is done. I posted the stories on the Canada's Giant Killers forum but will post pics here later. I want to thank the Baron for all his turkey knowledge and vids that he shared with me and chcltlabz for his sage advise of not shooting jakes if you want to learn to hunt toms. I took that to heart before the season started this year and decided that I would only shoot toms this year. I passed on at least a half dozen birds over the past week and a half and I'm glad I did. Thanks fellas. STUB; student of Wild Turkey 101

Careful of that Wild Turkey 101, it can make you howl at the moon. . . . Oh, you mean...never mind. Flashbacks to college there for a second.:GM:
Congrats on the bird, that first big tom will swear you off jakes for good though, (kind of like that Wild Turkey will swear you off of drinking).
Still waiting on the first one of the season here, but we've got a month to go still.

I agree 110% not only are you learing more about turkey behavior but you are also letting next years big boys grow, and give them jakes a break we were all love struck teenagers once lol.. :Luv: :Luv:

Please don't think of me as any kind of turkey expert. I'm just a guy with a love for the turkey woods and a big a** video collection!:rf: I did get lucky early on as the PE County birds were plentiful and cooperative, which gave me instant positive enforcement of what I was doing and a big confidence boost. If there's two things that you need to have in the turkeys woods, it's patience and confidence. With those (and a fresh roll of toilet paper) you're bound to do OK!:rf:
Congrats Stubs on waiting it out and tagging two toms. I have to go read the details now...
