Tonight took a walk with my father and came across a really skinny younger buck with these weird black circular objects all over his body. Ranging from a few cm's to almost 6 inches in diameter, he even had one over his right eye. Has anyone ever seen this before ? The buck was terribly skinny, wish I could have used the digital camera but it was really dark.

I would contact your game and fish department and exlplain to them what and where you seen it. Might be something they would be interested in??

Ringworm is a possibility but I'd say warts (caused by a virus) are more likely. These are raised skin lesions that can appear all over an animal. They commonly cluster around the head and face as well as on the body.

It could be something else as I'm no deer expert but those would be my top guesses. Animals with severe warts usually have a poor immune system which is probably why the fawn is thin. I agree with the others - call your local wildlife officer and alert him of the animal.
