Hey duck1nut when I had my sbe I had great sucess with the factory mod shooting hevi #2 , this was the first year hevi came out and I didn't know alot about it so I never shot or patterned any #4, just kept going with what was flat out smoking them. Honestly, now that I've shot hevi much more, 2 3/4 in. #4 is about all I'll ever need.Don't know if this helps you any, but it worked great for me. By the way it wasn't the high velocity.

El, Thanks, the Mod. choke is what works for me the best. I wanted to try the hevi-shot without changing to another tube.
#4's is what i was looking into. Did i read right, you are shooting the # 4's in your sbe ? I also think the slower would work better....

Hey D1N , I sold my sbe without ever shooting any hevi # 4 thru it. I wish I had, I've shot enough 2 3/4 in. #4 hevi in other guns to now realize #2's are just about overkill. Still keep some on hand, but the fours are awsome. Hope your factory mod. works as good for you as mine did for me. Never saw the need for anything else. Hope this helps. Mike

A modified choke patterns hevi best in my SBE1 but the patterns a really tight and would be used on longer range shots. I could practically use that set up for turkeys.

Suggest you try improved cylinder with SBE & Heavy Shot 4's. I never patterned it but three of us used it over decoys ...35yds. with good success. All used SBEs. I don't use it very much cause I like Fasteel's performance & price! Their stock choke works well too! I would do more patterning.

I am going to get the 4's in heavy shot and a case of Kent 1's. I have not tried the kent's, but hear great things about them.
Just thought i would give the h-shot a try too. Thanks for the replys !
