Canada Hunt?

I know there is no way to do it this year, but I am going to try a Canada goose hunt next year. My question is from everyone that goes up are the basic questions where?, when? and what red tape am I going to have to go through cost of licence etc. Anything you old Canadian veterans can tell me would be much appreciated. I have hunted on my farm for years but I have never gone a hunt outside this area and I think it is about time. Plus if I start this far in advance I have a better chance with the boss(wife)

From what I hear you don't have to I would also like input on that also. If I don't hire a guide what do I need to do?
