I thought I'd try this again. I bought a Mag 10 last year used that didn't come with the owner's manual, and I'm looking for a diagram or instructions on assembly and disassembly. I've tinkered with plenty of guns, semis included, and this is a very different beast than I've seen. I don't want to dive into this thing blind, because I've seen it before where if something goes wrong, its going to cost you big to fix.

If someone could help me out here, I'd appreciate it.

Brent, did ya try giving Itacha a call? I know they have not made the gun in years but they may still have instruction manuals to there discontinued models laying around. Here is the #1-888-9ITHACA

They are a very solid gun. All we ever did to ours is a simple dropping of the trigger assembly and a couple of shots of Gun Scrubber to clean it out good. Then a couple of Shots in the bolt as well. The Ithica Mag 10 had one main problem and that is the plastic buffer behind the bolt. When that baby got brittle or broke...Jam city. It was a relatively inexpensive part and not to bad to replace. For some reason, I don't know why the best stuff I used on mine for lubrication was (gunsmiths don't read) WD-40 and I coated it on the trigger assemble and bolt. Fired a couple of rounds through it and it was good to go. Back when I guided near Rochester in the lates 80's that was my weopon of choice. I agree with the call Ithica for manual though, it never hurts!

I was on their website, but they want like 10 bucks for one. Seems a little extreme to me, but I may have to go that route. That's a lot to pay for a bunch of safe handling stuff that anyone buying a gun should already know, for a page or two of take down instructions.

I'm already dropping the trigger, and removing the barrel, etc. but there are times when a more thorough cleaning is called for.

what the heck is $10.00 lol I know I have spent 10 on worse things than that, ten bucks is cheap imo:LOL:

I know, 10 bucks isn't much, its just the principal that this thing should be free. Its just a download for cripes sake. Every other one of their manuals are free for downloading, why should this one be different?

that is true if the other ones are free, I see your point. wasn't trying to start anything, it came out the wrong way

I got a buddy I work with who has one. He said he would dig it out and make photo copies if he can find it. I will mail it out to you. If that can't work or you don't want photo copies, then I don't know what to tell you. I will keep you posted. L8ER Joe

Now I could be wrong on this but it may be a thought to check out. Remington bought the rights to Ithaca and the Remington Mag 10 I believe is the same as the old Ithaca Mag 10. I think they are one in the same. :CF:

Caller, although the SP10 and Mag Ten look similar they are indeed very different. I don't think ANY of the parts interchange at all.

Brent, if I were you I would call and squeak a little to Itacha, tell them all other companies provide manuals for there guns free of charge maybe they will give you a deal, just push the issue a little. DD Good Luck!

DD, Thanks for the info on that. I wasn't 100% sure but thought someone out there might now. I sold my Ithaca Mag-10 (including instruction manual :rf: ) right at the time Remington starting making their version of the gun. I had heard that the gun was the same except for the stamp on it.
