Well I am glad the great State I live in makes us hunt doves before them smelly old geese. You guys will be out killin all them big smelly geese and have to pack all that wieght out of the field. Me I will be sitting on my bucket drinking a pop and shooting doves. Them doves are much better to eat and I can kill ten of them.
Well this is what I have telling myself for the last month but I don't believe a word of it, not one. Shit I have got to find me another State to move to. I have to wait till the 9th and it is killing me. I was thinking about moving down under with Pob but he has a whole year to wait, hehehehehe. It's killing ya ain't it Rob???

I'm with ya, Flocknocker. This five-day early goose season is a bummer. The only bright spot is that we get to shoot 5 birds over here on the West side, BUT, the goose hunting opportunities are less over here. I'm going to try and go scouting some new areas this weekend. I'll let you know how it was.

Our big dove hunt/golf trip got cancelled for the opener - SHIT!! I still might try to get accross the pass for a day or two, though.

The waiting is killing me too!!

I'm in the same boat Cliff. Eastern Oregon doesn't open until Sept. 9 and is only open 7 days. SW Idaho where I live doesn't even have an early season. I gotta drive about 3 hrs to hunt and pay out of state fees.

I am pleased with the way my season starts.

Friday Sept 1: Dove season opens. Limit 15

Saturday Sept 2: Goose season opens. Limit 5

Do you guys have a problem with shooting geese in the morn and doves in the afternoon? Sounds like a great day to me!

Alright it's my turn to whine....Tommorow will be day number 18 of 100 degree or over (today it was 105 degrees) weather just in the month of August. We have had 1/2 inch of rain in the last 40 days. The crops are burning up, The water is now 30 yds from my blind, and geeting farther by the day. The 7 day forcast is for no rain and over 100 degrees from now until eternity. Anybody need a kleenek yet.....I can hear your hearts breaking from here. LOL.
I'm like you Flock I do get to hunt doves, and actually there are alot around. So that should be fun, just damn HOT! Our goose season does not begin around here until the 1st of NOV.
I'm heat stressed and getting grumpier then He**....heheh...Bring on the Fall!
