Has anyone stated shooting varmints yet?? I bought a Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .22-250, then topped her with a Nikon Buckmaster 6x18x40 and love it,it's a accurate little beast. I broke it in right yesterday shot 2 rockchucks at over 200yds, and then got a badger at 90 yds after my father in law missed it with a .270, all I had was a head shot after it hid in some sage, it was messy!!! I love spring varmints, I haven't got my .17 HMR out for whistle pigs yet, but I'll be chasing them soon too!!:st: :uh:

I haven't busted a cap into a groundhog in quite sometime. I'd love to try and fit it in this year... after turkey season of course! I recently picked up a Rem 70 LVSF in .204. It's curently at the gunsmith getting a trigger job and I have a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x AO waiting here for it. I bought it for coyotes, but I'm sure it would make a nice 'hog buster too.:hest: :bang:

Wow guess we're the few varmint hunters on here... sooo sad..hehe more rockchucks for me I guess.....Beak Breaker, what are you shooting out of your gun, I'm just shooting the 40 rd Wal Mart Value Pack, 45 grain Jacketed HP, I wish I knew who made that bullet because it shoots great out of my gun. As soon as I get some more brass, I want to try some v-max's, I'm trying for the bigger impact:CZ:

Was a couple hours south in the state today and saw the first whistle pig hit on the road. It's still pretty early around here. I shoot a .223 for yotes and far pigs and a .17 HMR and also a .17 Mach 2 for close and small stuff.

I've been having fun when I've gotten out, been laying the hurt on the rock chucks, I made my farthest shot the other day, I know it was over 400 yds, because I shot, opened my eye and still had time to watch him in the scope explode off the rock, I was happy after that:rf: The whistle pigs are slowly coming around, but i've been shooting the chucks when I get the chance, I'd like to find some new chuck grounds...The hunt continues!

Haven't gotten out yet, but this weekend a few boys and I are heading east to get the jack rabbits in the sage, don't know if the sage rats are going to be out yet but soon, I use a 223, 243, 22, and 12 gauge. Haven't shot a yote since December, I was duck hunting and he busted out of the slough I was putting the sneak on, killed him with 3 inch #2's, that was a first for me

I shot a chuck,a red digger, and a ground squirt. Saw a lot in one field but the owner had there horses out so we couldn't shoot. Found a bunch of red diggs but the land owner said his son likes to shoot them. Heck the kid lives in the mnts. he only has to travel no where us 1 1/2 hours go figure.:st:
