.22 caliber bullets in .30 caliber

Just wandering if anyone has shot any of the Remington excellerators
they are a .223 bullet in side a sabot seated in the 30-06 springfield
factory ammo still in production.

If so hows the performance?
Also wandering if anyone has reloaded their own, found a add
in gun digest or shotgun news that sells the sabots as a reloading
supply but no reloading data exsist on their site.

Thought about trying a reduced load, but i dont want to run the
risk of high pressure.. that could happen with a reduced load.

Any input on this subject would be helpfull.

I've never tried them in .30/06, but I used to own a Remington 788 in .30-30 and tried some in it. Accuracy was very poor - 3 shot groups of about 4-5" at 100 yards. That could be just the luck of the draw with that gun, but I wouldn't expect to get sub-MOA groups from any Accelerator load.

I don't know where you might find info on reloading those saboted bullets - maybe a 'net search? And yes, do be very careful with reduced loads. If it were me, I wouldn't try anything I hadn't found published somewhere (loading manual or reputable magazine).

Thanks for the input.. I guess I had to be told twice.. Killer Miller suggested
i do a search too, over on another site.. Anyway i found the info. and alot
more.. I guess my buddy at work didnt look hard enough..the info was for
him. Thanks for trying to help. I'll be sure to post my results, when and if i
test my factory remington loads..
