My 12 year old daughter Malory and I had a successful opening day to season "B" here in MN. After playing with a flock of 4 Jakes for the better part of the day by calling them into the decoys 5 separate times, (inside 15 yards each time). We finally broke the Jake curse and pulled three long beards in to us. Malory shot hers at 8 yards and the other two birds took flight, (big mistake!) I dropped mine out of the air at 10 yards.

They weren't huge, just nice quality 2 y/o birds. Her's was 24lbs and mine was 23.5. Both had 10" beards.
After the mile long hike out of the woods carrying all of our gear plus two birds, I kind of wished that we would have shot the Jakes!:OUCH:
One state down, two to go...
