I got my first fox a couple days ago. To be honest it wasn't anything fancy. I knew the area it was hanging around pretty well.It was sunny and the wind was in my favour. I shot him right between the eyes at 30 yards. Nice looking male fox. I'm planning on getting him mounted, but I don't plan on shooting anymore.

Hey Pat,
nice shooting. That's a great looking fox!
Be sure to post the pics of that mount as well. He'll look good beside that fireplace. :TT:

What kind of pose you planning on doing?

Hey Tyler I'm getting him done with the front feet on top of a rock or stump, peering out.

Good shooting Pat! I'd love to add one to the predator hunting trophies. I'm like you though - would probably just shoot the one and leave the rest becasue there aren't many around anymore.

Nice shooting Pat. What was the weapon of choice?
But you're right foxes are pretty rare around these parts.

Good lord Baron, no shortage of those things here in the north. Maybe you best come up here and add a few to the predator collection.:TT:In the winter of '92 I and a good friend of mine took 200 of them when they were at the peak of their cycle. Good job Pat. Nice looking animal. It's amazing when you pick them up how light they are, it's deceiving. All fur!!No wonder they can squeez through a 3-4 inch hole.

end up getting it mounted pat?Brought him to the taxidermist right away and he told me 8 months, so now it's already 10 months. I was thinking about that today, would be nice to get it back. I've waited 2 years to get a turkey mount once before.Hopefully I don't have to wait that long for the fox or the pintail I just shot.
