Iíve been trying to hunt coyotes with my 870 for the last couple of seasons with little success and I decided that this was the year for a new coyote gun. Baron was king enough to point me in the right direction and I ended up buying a Stevens 200 chambered in .22-250. After running a few shells through it on the range it was game time. I picked up a new hand call yesterday and decided to giver today. Within two minutes of setting up this female came in. I poked her at about 70 yards while she was looking at me, caught her just to the right of her left shoulder. She dropped like a ton of bricks, didnít even twitch. She tipped the scales at just over 35 pounds. I was pretty pumped to say the least. Thanks for all the great advice Baron! Next weekend we will tag a couple now that the monkey is off my back.

I told you progress was being made... it started with seeing one... a few stands later we missed one (OK... I missed... but he was running...) and then comes the kill.:uh: CONGRATULATIONS! The first one is the sweetest and I think you'll find #2 comes a little sooner. Especially now that you are armed with a 22-250 the odds are much more in your favour over the scattergun. Wish I'd been there to see it - she looks like a dandy!:TT:

Congrats on the yote, looks like a nice one!
Gotta love them Stevens rifles. I'd bet she shoots pretty good, especially for a $300 rifle. :)

I payed $395.00 for the rifle and tossed a $200.00 scope on top. That gun is far better then I deserve. I shot a 3/4" group at 100 yards on my first day shooting it, considering I am a shotgunner I think thats pretty darn good. That rifle is a hell of a deal!!
